Old Growth Ventures is pleased to receive notice that our 1910 craftsman style bungalow 910 Renner, located at 908 Sabine street, has been reclassified as a Contributing Structure to the Old Sixth Ward Historic District.
Old Growth Ventures principal Neal Dikeman says, our 910 Renner bungalow was mistakenly left off the original inventory of contributing homes in Houston's important Old Sixth Ward Historic District when it was created. While most developers are looking to remove homes from the protected list, we identified when we acquired the property that it deserved protections, and after discussion with the City's Historic Preservation Office, we are proud to help protect this historic home by proposing and supporting the addition of 910 Renner to the City of Houston's contributing historic inventory in Old Sixth Ward Historic District.
We are pleased to proceed with our rehabilitation project for this wonderful bungalow under a Certificate of Appropriateness received from the HAHC, and are pleased that the City of Houston Historic Preservation Office and Houston Archaeological & Historical Commission has followed our prior efforts achieving certification of 910 Renner as a historic structure by the National Park Service and the Texas Historical Commission.
We would like to thank the City of Houston Historic Preservation Office, Houston Archaeological & Historical Commission, the National Park Service, and the Texas Historic Commission for formally recognizing the historical significance of the 910 Renner house under their programs, says Old Growth Ventures principal Neal Dikeman. This is a great example of a developer working at all levels of government to protect a previously at risk historic structure. We only keep the history of Houston if we protect it.
